Charlotte Sak wins second, Richard Foong bags first Boy's Open title |
2nd May, Seremban: Charlotte Sak of Selangor won her second SportExcel-NSC-Milo-MSSM Junior Circuit title this year while Perak's Richard Foong claimed his first Boy's Open title at Golden Bowl this afternoon.
Charlotte, who won the KL leg title at Cathay Bowl last month to top the current GP Rankings, easily defeated her challenger and winner of the first Girl's stepladder match, June Lim Wai Jun from Pahang 212-160. The 17 year-old Sunway College student from Selangor was on a roll when she bowled two high games of 279 to take top-seed with a score of 4483.

and 4th-seed Wan Nu Atiqqa (196) from Johor with 242. Aressa totalled 4401 in the round-robin finals for second followed by Wai Jun (4397) and Wan Nur Atiqqa (4309) in 3rd and 4th respectively. |
Meanwhile, there was no stopping the Perak youth, Richard Foong after he was determined to take his first Junior Circuit title. Richard, the 16 year-old who studies in Singapore and had represented Singapore in the recent 7th Asian Schools Championship in Hong Kong, narrowly defeated his challenger Mohd Nur Aiman of Johor 235-227 for the well-deserved win especially after leading from start to finish.
Fourth-seed Mohd Nur Aiman found the champion a bit difficult to beat even though he had ousted 2nd-seed Mohd Amirul Syazwan (192) of MSN and 3rd-seed Fahmi Bahri (196) from Johor with a good game of 225.

| Sin Li Jane, Afiq Rifqi emerges as fifth leg Graded champions |
2nd May, Seremban: Perak's Sin Li Jane and Afiq Rifqi of Johor emerged as the SportExcel-NSC-Milo-MSSM Junior Circuit fifth leg champions which concluded this afternnon at Golden Bowl.
Second-seed Sin Li Jane took her first Girl's Graded title when she defeated top-seed Johara Johari from Penang 245-191 in the final stepladder match after winning the first game 196-181. The 12 year-old champion had earlier knocked out quarterfinal leader Nur Hidayah (169) of Selangor and 4th-seed Ili Syazana (195) of Selangor with a score of 201 to challenge the top-seed.
Li Jane, who gradually moved up from 5th in Stage 1 then to 3rd in the quarterfinals, and 2nd position in the round-robin finals to qualify for the stepladder finals, had accumulated a total of 4214. Johara, who settled for runner-up had topped the round with 4220. |

In the Boy's Graded division, 3rd-seed Afiq Rifqi also forced top-seed Mohd Fadzrul of Johor into the sudden-death final stepladder match when he won the first game by a single pin 180-179. Afiq, who also triumphed in the KL leg last month, then went on to take his second title by outclassing his opponent with a score of 216-169 in the crucial final match.
The champion had earlier defeated 2nd-seed Mohd Rifdi (153) of Kedah and 4th-seed Fahmi Bahri (160) from Perak with a score of 226. Afiq maintained his position througout the three stages to make the stepladder finals in third with a total of 4360 behind Mohd Fadzrul (1st-4501) and Mohd Rifdi (2nd-4452).

1st May, Seremban: Pahang's Lim Wai Jun took over the lead in the Girl's Open quarter finals of the SportExcel-NSC-Milo-MSSM Junior Circuit fifth leg while Perak's Richard Foong maintained his lead in the Boy's Open division.
June Lim Wai Jun took a slim lead of 2 pins in the Girl's Open after the quarter finals were completed this evening with 2824. Local youth, Aressa Malenie Thurairajah posted a high 6-game total of 1351 to jump from 10th overnight to second position with a total of 2822.
KL leg champion, Charlotte Sak of Selangor moved up one spot to third with a total of 2762 while Stage 1 leader Zatil Iman of Selangor struggled and dropped to 4th with 2700. Selangor's Sharon Koh finished 5th with 2670. |

Stage 1 leader, Richard Foong of Perak maintained the lead after the quarter finals with a total of 3089 in a high scoring lane at Golden Bowl. Mohd Amirul Syazwan of MSN recorded the highest 6-game total of 1413 to leapfrog to second spot with 3040 with Johor's Mohd Aiman retaining third position on 3010.
Kuala Lumpur's Kenson Low dropped two spots from 2nd to 4th on a total of 2945 while Johor's Fahmi Bahri maintained 5th with 2928. A total of 11 out of the 16 quarter finalists showed their prowess by posting 200 and above averages in this year's SUKMA Games tenpin bowling venue.

| Nur Hidayah Adam, Mohd Fadzrul tops Graded quarter finals |
1st May, Seremban: Asian Schools Team Silver medalist Nur Hidayah Adam of Selangor and Mohd Fadzrul from Johor topped the Girl's and Boy's Graded quarter finals of the SportExcel-NSC-Milo-MSSM Junior Circuit fifth leg at Golden Bowl this evening.
Nur Hidayah, who was third in Stage 1 yesterday improved on her score to take over the lead in the Girl's Graded division with a total of 2636. Johara Johari from Penang knocked down a high game of 226 to storm into second spot and just 8 pins behind the leader on 2628.
Perak's Sin Li Jane also improved fron 5th to third position with a total of 2614 while Dhira Marzuki of SSBP maintained 4th place with 2579. Stage 1 leader Siti Shazwani of Johor dropped to 5th on a total of 2575. |

Meanwhile, Johor's Mohd Fadzrul outpaced Stage 1 leader Xavian Ang to grab a 2-pin lead at the end of the Boy's Graded quarter finals with a total of 2917 and an impressive 208.35 average. Kedah's Mohd Rifdi Abdul Halim improved from 3rd to second with 2915.
Afiq Rifqi from Johor and Tengku Ariff of Kedah both moved up one spot each to 3rd and 4th with 2810 and 2775 respectively while Stage 1 leader Xavian Ang dropped to 5th position on a total of 2763.
The top 8 Boys and Girls advanced to the round-robin finals which will be played tomorrow (2nd May).

| Richard Foong, Zatil Iman leads the pack after Stage 1 |
1st May, Seremban: Richard Foong of Perak and Zatil Iman of Selangor led the pack of Boy's and Girl's Open Stage 1 of the SportExcel-NSC-Milo-MSSM Junior Circuit fifth leg at Gold Bowl this morning.
The lanes at Golden Bowl proved to be in tremedous conditions when the top 10 in the Boy's Open division averaged above the 200 mark. Perak's Richard Foong was on fire when he shot 1822 to lead the pack of 38 bowlers with a comfortable 84 pins cushion and on lines of 185, 246, 246, 254, 216, 194, 235 and 246.
Kuala Lumpur's Kenson Low took second spot with 1738 followed by Muhd Nur Aiman of Johor in third with 1709. Syafiq Ridhwan of Selangor and Fahmi Bahri of Johor took up 4th and 5th positions with 1648 and 1644 respectively. |

Meanwhile, Selangor's Zatil Iman clinched the lead by a mere 1 pin when she scored 1659 in the Girl's Open division from Pahang's June Lim Wai Jun in second on 1658. Ziran Nadirah Ghazali of Selangor finished a distant third on 1527.
The top 16 boys and top 12 girls will bowl in the quarter finals later today (1st May) at the end of which the top 8 from each division will move on to the round-robin semifinals.

| Xavian Ang, Siti Shazwani tops Graded Stage 1 in Junior Circuit fifth leg |
30th April, Seremban: 14 year-old Xavian Ang of MSN and Johor's Siti Shazwani topped the SportExcel-NSC-Milo-MSSM Junior Circuit Negeri Sembilan/Melaka Leg Graded Stage 1 at Golden Bowl this evening.
Xavian outshined a field of 117 Boy's Graded bowlers scoring 1712 and averaging an impressive 214 over the 8 games Stage 1. The conditions at Golden Bowl appears to be a high scoring lane as the top 5 youths all averaged above 200.
Mohd Fadzrul Mohd Khalid finished second 33 pins adrift the leader on 1679 with Mohd Rifdi Abdul Halim another 40 pins away in third on 1639. Afiq Rifqi and Tengku Ariff Tengku Zahari tied in 4th place on 1635. |

Meanwhile, last start 2nd runner-up Siti Shazwani from Johor took pole position after scoring 1500 in the Girl's Graded Stage 1 but with just 4 pins separating the top three finishers. Penang's Johara Johari came in second with 1498 while a further 2 pins away was Asian Schools Malaysian Team B representative, Nur Hidayah Adam of Selangor on 1496.
Dhira Marzuki of SSBP and Penang leg 2nd runner-up Sin Li Jane from Perak finsihed 4th and 5th with 1491 and 1483 respectively.
The top 48 boys and top 24 girls qualified for the quarter finals which will be played tomorrow (1st May) after the Boy's and Girl's Open finish their Stage 1 of 8 games. |
