Adrian Ang, Muhd Nur Aiman heads Junior Circuit Johor leg Stage 1

11th July, Johor Bahru: Last leg winner of the Melaka leg, Adrian Ang headed the pack of Boy's Open Stage 1 of the SportExcel-NSC-Milo-MSSM Junior Circuit Johor leg at Daiman Bowl last night while local lad, Muhd Nur Aiman topped the Boy's Graded division.

Adrian, who won the Boy's Open title in Melaka last month was in devastating form to score 1747 and an average of 218.38. He started off well with a 212 in the first game then a poor 187 in the second. But Adrian soon recovered to record a string of 200-games with 211, 234, 195, 268, 216 and 224 to cap off a fine day's outing.

Ong Boon Hock from Melaka tried to match Adrian but eventually finished second, just 35 pins behind on 1712. Local youth, Kang Bo Long finished a distant third, a further 92 pins away in third on 1620. The top 16 Boy's Open will bowl the next 6 games in the quarter finals.

Meanwhile, Johor's Muhd Nur Aiman was spectacular today bowling not a single game below 180. Aiman's lines of 212, 197, 236, 202, 181, 207, 201 and 192 gave him an average of 203.50 and the lead of the Boy's Graded division Stage 1. Adrian Charles Dragon from Penang took the early lead with a string of four 200-games but could not maintain his composure in the 5th and 6th game which saw him shoot two low games of 135 and 149. Despite recovering in the last two games Adrian could not snatch the lead back from Muhd Nur Aiman who was picking up his spares and striking well.

In Squad B, Abdullah Ashraf from MSN who started badly with a 141 game settled down nicely after that to tie with Adrian Charles Dragon in 2nd place on a total of 1579 pinfalls.
