| Selangor, Kedah ends home team domination |
6th April, Ipoh: Selangor's Nadya Izzati Bt Noor Azman and Kedah's Muhd AMirul B CHe Mat ended Perak's domination in the SportExcel-NSC-Milo-MTBC Junior CIrcuit third leg at Ampang SUperbowl Ipoh on Sunday with victories in the Girl's Open and Boy's Under-16 divisions.
Pint-sized Nadya Izzati of Selangor, who dispatched third-seed, Hurul Ainul of Negeri Sembilan in the semifinals 379-352, went on to prevent topseed, Syaidatul Afifah Bt Badrul Hamidi of Perak her first title this year as she edged her opponent, 347-339 in the finals to win the Girl's Open crown.
The 17-year-old national youth reached the semifinals by outclassing teammate, Siti Nur Fairuz, 415-334 in the quarterfinals. Syaidatul Afifah, who finished second in the previous leg, again settled for second despite knocking out second leg champion, Nur Diana Hussin of Kuala Lumpur, 349-309 in the other semi. |

The Perak runnerup had earlier finished topseed over the two-day preliminary rounds with 2760 ahead of the champion, Nadya Izzati in second with 2702 and Hurul Ainul third on 2538.

Topseed, Mohd Amin B Abdul Razak did salvaged some pride for Perak as he cruised to another title in the Boy's Open division. Mohd Amin took the title with a comfortable victory over third-seed and challenger, Mohd Shafiq Hashim of Selangor, 450-384 in the title match.
The champion was also impressive in the semifinals knocking out fellow-Perak youth, Equine Lam Wai Lik, 433-386 while the runner-up edged second-seed, Mohd Amirul Afif of Kuala Lumpur, 359-345 in the other semi.
Mohd Amin ended the earlier 14-game preliminary rounds in front with 2850 followed by Mohd Amirul Afif and Mohd Shafiq Hashim in second and third positions with 2836 and 2715 respectively. |

Kedah's Muhd Amirul B Che Mat, who was runnerup in the previous leg in Sungai Petani, made amends in the Boy's Under-16 division by capturing his first-ever junior circuit title defeating third-seed and challenger, Mohd Shahril Afifie of Pahang, 372-318 in the final match.
The fourth-seed reached the finals after ousting seventh-seed, Kua Jian Wen of Kuala Lumpur, 407-262 while the runnerup, Mohd Shahril beat eighth-seed, Declan Lee Zhuang Rong, 339-298 in the other semi.

The topseed sailed through to the finals by knocking out seventh-seed, Sharifah Marissa of Selangor, 387-309 in the semi and eighth-seed, Nur Fadeena Bt Aznel of Kedah, 328-319 in the quarterfinals.
The next leg will be in Kuala Terengganu at the new Wau Superbowl, Stadium Utama Kompleks Sukan Negeri Gong Budak which will give the SUKMA participants a chance to test out the lanes. The new 48-lane centre is expected to be open by early May.

| Perak youths continue domination |
5th April, Ipoh: Perak youths continued to dominate the Open divisions of the SportExcel-NSC-Milo-MTBC Junor Circuit third leg at Ampang Superbowl Ipoh as Syaidatul Afifah Bt Badrul Hamidi and Muhd Amin B Abdul Razak topped Stage 2 round on Saturday evening.
Stage 1 leader, Syaidatul Afifah of Perak maintained her lead with consistent lines of 197, 182, 194 and 234. Although the 16-year-old only managed 170 and a poor 154, Syaidatul had already built up a big cushion to cruise to a comfortable margin of 58 pins on a 14-game total of 2760.

Local Perak youth, Equine Lam Wai Lik also continued to lead after the opening game but KL's Amirul Afif posted a strong 232 to tie for the lead after the second game wth Equine but just 3 pins ahead of Muhd Amin of Perak.
Three strong games from Muhd Amin saw the youngster taking over the lead and despite a lowly 169, Muhd Amin completed the stage with a 14-game total of 2850 to advance into the knockout rounds as topseed.

| Stage 1 leader cruises into next round |
5th April, Ipoh: Stage 1 leader, Mohd Zafiq Syaddiq of Perak cruised into the knockout rounds of the SportExel-NSC-Milo-MTBC Junior Circuit third leg after leading from start to finish in Stage 2 which ended Saturday evening.
Mohd Zafiq Syaddiq, who was in pole position before the start of the 6-game Stage 2 with 12 pins, set a sizzling pace to stretch his lead to 76 pins after two superb games of 209 and 211. Whilst his nearest rivals fumbled in the next two games, the second leg champion was able to maintain his consistency to build up a comfortable 167 pins after the fourth game.
The leader was simply too good for the field of 48 youths as he cruised to a comfortable end with a score of 1190 and a 14-game total of 2750 to advance into tomorrow's knockout stage as topseed. |

Negeri Sembilan's Farhan Afiz Abas, who trailed Mohd Zafiq all the way, was contented with second spot on a total of 2574, 176 pins adrift while Mohd Shahril Afifie improved from ninth overnight to third with 2527.
Muhd Amirul B Che Mat (KED-2526), Muhd Mizan B Abdul Rahman (JOH-2513), Omar Al-Hakeen (KUL-2512), Kua Jian Wen (KUL-2509) and Declan Lee Zhuang Rong (KED-2508) made the cut from fourth to eighth positions respectively.
The topseed, Mohd Zafiq will meet the eighth-seed, Declan Lee, Farhan Afiz vs Kua Jian Wen, Mohd Shahril vs Omar Al-Hakeem and Mohd Amirul vs Muhd Mizan in tomorrow's knockout rounds. The winner will face in the semifinals and then the winner proceeding to the final title match over two games total pinfalls. |

| Impressive debut for Selangor youths |
5th April, Ipoh: Selangor youths made an impressive debut at the SportExcel-NSC-Milo-MTBC Junior Circuit third leg when Ahmad Aidil B Abdul Halim and Natasha Roslan led the qualifying rounds of the Under-12 Boy's and Girl's division.
An superb opening game of 178 from a 12-year-old Ahmad Aidil was good enough to take the lead and despite maintaining with 173 and 171 in his next two games, Ahmad lost the lead to Wan Nadzmi Fikri of Selangor at the halfway mark.
But the pint-sized SK Jalan Gurney standard 6 pupil recovered with a scintilating 223 to regain the lead and followed it up with 181 and 179 ending the qualifying round with 1105. Wan Nadzmi settled for a distant second, 108 pina adrift on 997 as Mohd Daniel Emir took third spot with 937. |

Natasha Roslan, also from Selangor, completed the 6-game qualifying round to top the Girl's Under-12 division with a total of 998. The SK USJ Section 20 pupil posted lines of 155, 170, 151, 183, 161 and 178 to finish 70 pins ahead of her nearest opponent.
Anessa Asyira Abas of Negeri Sembilan claimed second spot with 928 while early pace-setter, Aida Yasmin Bt Azman of Perak finished third with 927. Only 14 girls took part which left two missing the top 12 cut.
Nurul Izzati Bt Mohd Yusof finished 12th with 741 on an average of 123.5 to squeeze into the finals. The top 12 girls and top 12 boys advanced to the finals for another 6 games on Sunday to determine the champions.

| Perak youths dominate open division |
5th April, Ipoh: Perak youths dominated the Boy's and Girl's Open division of the SportExcel-NSC-Milo-MTBC Junior Circuit third leg at Ampang Superbowl Ipoh when Equine Lam Wai Lik and Syaidatul Afifah Bt Badrul Hamidi topped the Stage 1 Saturday morning.
Ex-national youth, Equine Lam set a blistering pace in his three opening games with 232, 191 and 209 to take a 19 pins lead over Mohd Shafiq B Hashim of Selangor. Despite continuing with 211 in the fourth game, the 16-year-old SMK Gunong Rapat Perak youth lost the lead to Muhd Amin B Abdul Razak at the halfway mark.
Muhd Amin, also from Perak led for the next three games and with a margin of 42 pins going into the eighth and final game. But a disasterous 139 saw Muhd Amin thumbling down to end the stage in second. |

Early pace-setter, Equine regained pole position at the end of the block with 1638 followed by KL's Mohd Amirul Afif, who stormed home to tie in second spot with Muhd Amin with 1604. The top 20 advanced to the quarterfinals for another 6 games before cutting off to the top 8 for the knockout stage.

In the Girl's Open division, second leg runner-up, Syaidatul Afifah Bt Badrul Hamidi of Perak, hopes to make amends by topping Stage 1 by a comfortable margin of 98 pins on a total of 1629. Syaidatul's 8 game scores were 171, 242, 204, 240, 225, 224, 157 and 160.
Selangor's Nadya Izzati, who led in the opening game, trailed Syaidatul most of the way to end the block in second with 1531 followed by Negeri Sembilan's Hurul Ainul Abu Razak in third spot with 1463.
Only 11 girls open took part in this leg and all made the cut into the quarterfinals. The top 8 at the end of the quaterfinals will advance to the knockout stage to determine the champion.

4th April, Ipoh: Selangor youth, Muhd Aizudeen Mustaqim snatched pole position after the Boy's Under-16 Stage 1 of the SportExcel-NSC-Milo-MTBC Junior Circuit third leg were completed at Ampang Superbowl Ipoh on Friday evening.
Mohd Zafiq Syaddiq of Perak had taken the lead on Thursday evening for local youths with an impressive score of 1560. Farhan Afiz Abas of Negeri Sembilan topped Squad A for outstation youths played this morning but fell short by 21 pins finishing behind Mohd Zafiq.
With the remaining Boy's Under-16 in Squad B taking to the lanes for their Stage 1, Kedah's Ooi Thean Sheng set a scorching pace to lead with a superb 226. Ooi continue to lead after the second game but KL's Mohd Ikmal grab the lead after the third game. |

Recovering from a poor start in the opening game, Muhd Aizudeen Mustaqim of Selangor posted four consecutive high games to storm into the lead with a comfortable 67 pins margin at the halfway mark.
The SMK Shah Alam Section 9 pupil went on to snatch pole by 12 pins from overnight leader, Mohd Zafiq Syaddiq. Muhd Aizudeen, who won a silver medal in MSSS 2008 CHampionship two days ago, posted 1572 and looked to carry his form into the quarterfinals tomorrow.
Squad A leader, Farhan Afiz Abas settled for third with 1539 while Kedah's Declan Lee Zhuang Rong and Amir Din Imran of Selangor rounded up the top 5 with 1490 and 1478. The top 48 advanced to another 6-games in the quarterfinals. |

| Perak youth girl retains top spot |
4th April, Ipoh: Last night's Girl's Under-16 local squad leader, Nursyamimi Supardi of Perak retained her top spot as outstation squad completed their Stage 1 of the SportExcel-NSC-Milo-MTBC Junior Circuit third leg at Ampang Superbowl Ipoh.
Nursyamimi, who led Thursday night's squad for local youths with 1522, never had her lead threatened as the outstation girls took to the lanes at Ampang Superbowl Ipoh. Melaka's Sonia Teoh Jia Yun grabbed the lead after the third game and went on to top the squad with 1496.
But the Form 4 student from SMK Infant Jesus Convent settled for third overall after the two squads were combined and behind Nursyamimi Supardi and Nur Farah Ashyqin Rashid, both of Perak first and second respectively. |

Ainaa Khairina Bt Azman dropped to fourth with 1454 with Kedah's Nur Fadeena Bt Aznel making the top 5 with 1445. The cut off for the top 28 advancing into the quarterfinals was Zureen Nurasuhaz Bt Zahiruddin of Melaka with 1222 and averaging 152.75.
The quarterfinalists will bowl another 6 games at 7.30pm on Saturday to determine the top 8 making the elimination rounds on Sunday. Boy's Under-16 Squad B for outstation youths will play their Stage 1 after the break.

| Local youth maintains lead |
4th April, Ipoh: Local youth, Mohd Zafiq Syaddiq of Perak maintained his lead in the Boy's Under-16 division after outstation youths completed Squad A of the SportExcel-NSC-Milo-MTBC Junior Circuit third leg at Ampang Superbowl Ipoh Friday morning with Farhan Afiz Abas in the lead.
Negeri Sembilan's Farhan Afiz Abas topped Squad A with 1539 for outstation youths who completed their Stage 1 this morning but fell short by 21 pins to overhaul overnight leader, Mohd Zafiq Syaddiq of Perak, who downed 1560 on Thursday evening for local youths.
The Form 4 SMK King George V pupil started moderately with 177 and 176 but a poor 135 in the third game saw the 16-year-old dropping out of contention. Farhan made a superb recovery reeling 200, 188 and 277 in his next 3 games to haul himself up the field. |

Although Farhan suffered another low game of 155 in the seventh game, he again recovered with 231 to finish a strong second to Mohd Zafiq. Mohd Shahril Afifie B Mohd Radua of Pahang did well to take up third spot with 1433 with Aliff Imran of Penang rounding up the top 5 with 1410.
The outstation youth under-16 girls will take to the lanes for their Stage 1 after lane maintenance with the boy's under-16 Squad B ending the day with their Stage 1. The boys and girls open division will contest their Stage 1 on Saturday morning.

| Comfortable lead for local youths |
3rd April, Ipoh: Perak youths, Nursyamimi Supardi and Mohd Zafiq Syaddiq took comfortable lead in the Girl's and Boy's Under-16 Stage 1 of the SportExcel-NSC-Milo-MTBC third leg underway at Ampang Superbowl Ipoh on Thursday evening.
Azyan Syamimi Bt Abdul Malek set the pace with an opening 197 from Syaidatul Afyna Bt Badrul Hamidi in second. A strong 202 from Nur Farah Ashyqin Rashid saw the Perak lass taking over with Nursyamimi Supardi in second 11 pins adrift.
Consistent lines from 187, 193, 201 and 204 gave 15-year-old Nursyamimi the lead at the halfway mark and a gap of 32 pins ahead of Nur Farah. Another strong 224 from Nursyamimi allowed her to build up a hugh 80 pins margin over Nur Farah after the fifth game. |

Despite suffering two low games of 165 and 166, Nursyamimi ended Stage 1 of the Girl's Under-16 squad with a total of 1522. Nur Farah stromed home with 211 to reduce the margin to 26 pins to finish second with 1496. Ainaa Khairina Bt Azman took third spot with 1454.
Second leg champion, Mohd Zafiq Syaddiq was in sizzling form and no match for the field as he romped home to take pole position with a comfortable 177 pins. The 16-year-old Perak youth amassed a total of 1560 for an impressive 195 average.
Arif B Fauzi Shah, who led from game 2 for two games, settled for second with 1383 while Zawir Aiman B Abdul Salleh finished third with 1375. Daial Riza Alwi Aizhar, who trailed Mohd Zafiq in the early stages, dropped to fourth with 1365.
The boys and girls under-16 from outstation will contest their Stage 1 on Friday morning which will determine the top 48 boys and top 28 girls moving into the quarterfinals. The boys and girls open division will bowl their Stage 1 on Saturday.
