Team International led from start to finish defeating Team Malaysia to win the Canon Cup for women at the Sunway Mega Lanes this afternoon.

The Canon Cup which is part of the Canon Malaysian International Open Bowling Championship which has been organised since 2007. But this year there was a change of format to have a separate event for the Men and Women unlike previous years it was just one event with a team comprising men and women bowlers.

Team International, virtually the Singapore team were represented by Shayna Ng, Dapne Tan, Ilma Nurjannah and Jazreel Tan while the fifth bowler was Indonesia’s Tannya Roumimper.

Team Malaysia were represented by Victoria Chin, Siti Safiyah Amirah, Sharon Koh, Zandra Aziela Ibrahim Hakimi and Sin Li Jane.

The winners are decided on total pinfall of the five bowlers and Team International had a total of 1001, while Malaysia could only down 926.

The individual scores were as follows:

Team International: Shayna (224); Daphne (194); Ilma (178), Tannya (212) and Jazreel 193.

Team Malaysia: Victoria (190); Siti Safiyah (213); Sharon Koh (182); Zandra (181) and Li Jane (160).

Team Singapore won RM20,000 for their victory, while Team Malaysia pocketed RM10,000.
