MEN'S TEAM MALAYSIA STAND UP TO BE COUNTED

  Ms. Wang Hui Cheng, Senior Manager from Canon Marketing presented trophy and mock check to Team Malaysia Men

The Men’s Team Malaysia rose to the occasion to down Team International’s star-studded lineup in the Canon Cup at the Sunway Mega Lanes this evening.

 

Team Malaysia represented by Adrian Ang, Isaac Russel Paul, Muhd Nur Aiman, Syafiq Ridhwan and Malaysian Open champion, Zulmazran ,downed Team International comprising PBA bowlers Dino Castillo and Sean Rash and Singapore’s Mark Wong, Keith Saw and Remy Ong 1070-967.

 

The match got off to an exciting and entertaining encounter with bowlers from both sides taking the mickey out of each other, to the delight of the crowd. The match itself was close with the lead was constantly changing hands.

 

It was only at the end of the sixth frame, Team Malaysia took control and led all the way to victory.

 

Adrian scored the highest with his score of 234, followed by Zulmazran 216, while Isaac scored 210, Muhd Nur (209) and Syafiq, 201.

 

Team International scores were Dino (203), Mark (148), Keith (178), Remy (211) and Sean (227).

 

For Team Malaysia it was a sweet victory as the format for this tournament was making its debut with a tournament for the men and separately, whereas since it was inaugurated in 2007, it was just a team comprising of men and women.

 

In the previous format, Team Malaysia only won once in 2008.

 

For Zulmazran, it was double delight having won the Malaysian Open title on Saturday and also having been on the Team Malaysia that won in 2008.

For the victory, Team Malaysia picked up RM20,000 while Team International took home RM10,000.
