Greetings from Penang !

On behalf of Penang State Government, I sincerely extend a warm welcome to all participants and their families to the second edition of PENANG DURAINS MASTERS 2011.

I am proud to hear that this year’s event recorded an increase of participants to 65 entries.

This year’s event also attracted some elite bowlers from Singapore and Malaysia national teams; notably Miss Jazreel Tan of Singapore who was awarded as the “Most Valuable Player” in the USA/NCAA 2010 season; Miss Geraldine Ng of Singapore who was the Asian Games 2010 Gold medalist; Mr. Perfect Jack Wong of Singapore, SEA Games Gold medalist and Mr. Shaun Ng, SEA Games Gold medalist.

Joining in fray are our Malaysian Elite bowlers, namely Asian Games 2010 Gold medalist Adrian Ang & Alex Liew, newly crowned Malaysian Open 2011 champion- Muhd Nur Aiman Khairuddin, National Elite members- Syafiq Ridhwan and Daniel Lim. Our National Youth bowlers in Aris Ardilla who recently won the Singapore Open Youth title, Syimir Abdul Razak, Ahmad Muaz Fishol and Eugene Oh.

I convey my heartiest Congratulations to the Organizing Committee for their untiring effort to organize this unique sporting event in promoting our Penang’s best durians.
