Making his second appearance in the World Youth Championships series, Syimir Abdul Razak gave a promising start in the Singles Boys event.

The diminutive lad from Kuala Lumpur confidently matched up the competition tempo as he reeled the lines of 224, 222, 209, 212, 195 and stormed home with a 247 game for a 1309 series to earn the 3rd spot in Squad A. However, Syimir has to wait precariously till the end of Squad D on June 25 evening to know his fate of proceeding to the Semi-Finals.

Debutant, Chong Jun Foo experienced the championship blues with a sub-par performance. Jun Foo started off with 180 and followed through with 216, 200, 179, 235 & 153 for a 1163 series total to be placed ob 18th position.
