Malaysia's Hee Kar Yen achieved a Silver lining start for our country when she won the Silver medal in the Singles Girls event at midday.
En-route to the Finals, pint-sized Kar Yen enthusiastically outplayed her opponent, Cristina of Puerto Rico in the Semi-Finals with a 225 - 151 margin victory.
Matched up with Kim Seon-Jeong of Korea for the championship title, Kar Yen started with a 7 split frame opened. She bounced back with a strike but could not string the strikes despite solid pocket shots in her game.
Eventually, Kar Yen has to be contended with a Silver medal on her 169-228 loss |
