Malaysia's hope for medals from our Women and Men Trios went up in smoke today at Hong Kong Bowling City.

Bowling in the morning Squad, our Trios of Esther Cheah, Zandra Aziela and Shalin Zulkifli encountered an erratic opening game with 564  and followed up with a par 606 second game. A revitalized performance in the 3rd game with a commendable 656 not sufficient to overcome the deficit and ended up in third place of the Squad trailing leader Singapore 2 by 27 pins.

Malaysia's other Trios of Sin Li Jane, Siti Safiyah and Jacqueline could not fired up the rhythm thus gave a mediocre performance with 605, 635 and 606 for an accumulated 3629 overall total to finish on 7th position.

Korea took the Gold and Bronze while Singapore took the Silver.

Meanwhile, our medal hopeful Trios of Nur Aiman, Syafiq Ridhwan and Aaron Kong succumb to the fierce competition intensity in their last game where it mattered most. They put up an inspiring opening 648 game but subsequently slide down with 595 game. A below par 568 game saw their medal vanished into thin air and had to be contended with a 6th placing.

Earlier in the morning, the Trios of Adrian Ang, Alex Liew and Zulmazran Zulkifli gave a glimpse of hope for medal with an encouraging 662 opening game. However, the following par 624 and 610 games were not high enough for a podium finish. The said Trios emerged 7th place just 7 pins behind their team mates.

Korea took the Gold and Silver medals while Japan took the Bronze medal.

The Team of Five 1st Block of 3 games (Short Oil) event shall commence tomorrow at 9:00am for the Women follow by the Men at 3:00pm.
