It was a classic case of being so near, yet so far. Bowling prodigy Shalin Zulkifli got her second shot at the AMF Bowling World Cup title but still let the title slip away.
She came in third, on a day when almost everyone involved felt that she could make up for her disappointment of finishing runner-up to Australian Cara Honeychurch last year. In the step-ladder grand final against South Korean Lee Ji-Soon, Shalin only managed a 190 while Ji-Soon shot 203. Ji-Soon went on to meet Tseng Su-Feng in the second match but lost to the Taiwanese 225-236.
