ABOUT THE GAMES

Introduction

Selangor will be hosting the 7th Sukan Malaysia from 17th - 27th April 1998. The 6th Malaysian Games was held in Kuantan, Pahang when tenpin bowling event was not held. The 1998 games will now include tenpin bowling. There will be a total of 19 contingents comprising of 14 states including Labuan, Brunei, MSSM (Majlis Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah Malaysia), Polis DiRaja Malaysia and MASUM (Majlis Sukan Universiti-Universiti Malaysia).

A total of 24 events will be contested for a total of 301 Gold, 301 Silver and 347 Bronze medals in this 7th Malaysian Games 1998. The events are:

GAMES VILLAGE

Location of the Games Village

The official games village is located at Institut Tecknologi Malaysia (ITM), Shah Alam, Selangor which will house the team officials and atheletes.

COMPETITION VENUE

Location

Tenpin Bowling will be held at Pyramid Bowl, a newly-opened AMF 48-lanes center. It is located on Level 1 of the Sunway Pyramid Shopping Centre in Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya. The center is approximately 10 minutes on the Federal Highway from the Games Village in Shah Alam. The following pictures provide a glimpse of the center.
