The 15th WTBA World Tenpin Bowling Championship, hosted by the Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress, will be held at two bowling centers: Pyramid Megalanes, Sunway Pyramid and Ampang Superbowl, Summit USJ from the 9th to 20th September, 2003.

Pyramid Megalanes, a 48-lane AMF center, will be the venue for the Men's division while Ampang Superbowl, a 32-lane synthetic AMF center, will be the venue for the Women's division.

The 48 lanes AMF wood surface bowling centre is located in Sunway Pyramid, an eight-storey shopping mall adjacent to one of the official hotels - The Sunway Lagoon Resort Hotel.

The Centre, proposed for Men's and Women's competition was built in 1997 and was the venue for the highly successful 1998 Commonwealth Games. During the games, we had the honour in welcoming some of the world's famous dignitaries including Prince Edward of England, The Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato Dr. Mahathir and his wife, The Queen of Malaysia, Ministers and Directors of the Commonwealth Games Federation, IOC members and Head of Delegation of the Commonwealth Games 1998.

There are two official hotels for this championship - Sunway Lagoon Resort and Summit Hotel.

Sunway Lagoon Resort
Sunway Lagoon Resort, is adjacent to Sunway Pyramid Shopping Centre where the Pyramid Megalanes is located and is within 5 minutes walking distance. In addition to the excellent hotel facilities, the centre also offers exhibition facilities and conference rooms under one roof. The Managers' Meeting will be held at one of the conference rooms at this hotel. The Ballroom of the hotel will be the venue for the Victory Banquet as well.

The rate for this hotel has now been finalized, and is US$100.00 (RM380.00) for Single occupancy, US$115.00 (RM440.00) for Double occupancy and US$135.00 (RM515.00) for Triple occupancy, inclusive of breakfast. This hotel will provide us with 280 hotel rooms on a first-come-first-basis. In addition, there will be 70 Junior Suites at US$135.00 (RM515.00) for Singles occupancy and US$150.00 (RM570.00) for Double occupancy both inclusive of breakfast, if required.

The Summit Hotel
The Summit Hotel The Summit Hotel is adjacent to The Summit USJ Shopping Centre where Ampang Superbowl is located and is within 3 minutes walking distance. In addition to the many hotel facilities, the shopping centre features cineplex, food courts and a supermarket are within the complex.

The rate for this hotel has now been finalized, and is US$53.00 (RM200.00) for both Single or Double occupancy inclusive of breakfast. The hotel will provide us with 150 rooms on a first-come-first-basis.

Hotel Sheraton Subang
Hotel Sheraton Subang is located in between the two bowling centres and approximately 5km from both Pyramid Megalanes and Ampang Superbowl Summit USJ. In addition to the many hotel facilities, the hotel is approximately 10 minutes walk to Subang Parade shopping centre which features shops, food courts and a supermarket.

The rate for this hotel has now been finalized, and is US$71.00 (RM270.00) for Single and Double occupancy inclusive of breakfast. The hotel will provide us with 200 rooms on a first-come-first-basis.

Hotel PJ Hilton
Hotel PJ Hilton is located approximately 5km to Pyramid Megalanes and a further 5km to Ampang Superbowl Summit USJ. In addition to the many hotel facilities, the hotel is approximately 10 minutes walk to Petaling Jaya (PJ) new town which features banks, shops, Chinese, Indian, Italian, MacDonalds, and KFC restaurants, and a several pubs.

The rate for this hotel has now been finalized, and is US$71.00 (RM270.00) for Single and Double occupancy inclusive of breakfast. The hotel will provide us with 150 rooms on a first-come-first-basis.

Hotel Holiday Villa
Hotel Holiday Villa is located approximately 5km to Ampang Superbowl Summit USJ and a further 5km to Pyramid Megalanes. In addition to the many hotel facilities, the hotel is next to Hotel Sheraton Subang and approximately 15 minutes walk to Subang Parade shopping centre which features shops, food courts and a supermarket.

The rate for this hotel has now been finalized, and is US$71.00 (RM270.00) for Single and Double occupancy inclusive of breakfast. The hotel will provide us with 150 rooms on a first-come-first-basis.

Deadline for booking
Please take note that we have no rooms at our disposal after August 1, 2003.

The deadline for reservation via the 15th WTBA World Tenpin Bowling Championship Organizing Committee is therefore July 31, 2003. All bookings must be made through us and payments to be made directly to the hotels. Download Forms.

During the whole 15th WTBA World Tenpin Bowling Championship period one VIP-lounge will be available for important guests, sponsors, Presidium members, head of delegations, accredited press officers, members of the board of the World Tenpin Bowling Association and members of the Organizing Committee.

Press Facilities
Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress will offer first-class press facilities during the championship. These facilities include SDSL broadband (up to 1.5MB) lines connections, up to 6 desktop computers, telephones, faxes and copiers at both the bowling venue press centres. There will be a team of computer specialists to assist you in electronic correspondence needs.

All equipment and communication costs will be free of charge for all accredited press officers for the total duration of the championship

Bus Service
No bus services will be provided to transfer participants and officials from the two official hotels to the bowling centres as they are within walking distances. Bus transfers are available for the other three official hotels on a fixed schedule for participants and officials. For non-officials (i.e. supporters, spouses and parents), bus transfers will be available to them provided they pay an "Entrance Fee".

For those who do not stay at these official hotels, they will have to make their own transportation arrangements.

Transportation for arrival and departure to/from the airport will be provided.

Entrance Fee
For non-officials (i.e. supporters, spouses and parents), they will have to pay an entrance fee of US$100 (RM380.00). This entrance fee will cover bus transfers, entry into the bowling centre during the competition, Welcome Reception in the Opening Ceremony and Victory Banquet.

Reception
To help you during your stay, reception centres will be set up at each of the official hotel during arrival and departures. The staff will be able to assist you in all your special needs.

Result Services
The scoring system used for the championship is specially customized which is connected directly to the AMF AccuScore Systems at both centres. Once each game is played, results will be instantly available in both display format on large screen-projection (subject to availability) and on print for team managers and coaches. At the same time, these scores will be directly uploaded to the official championship website.

Welcome Reception and Opening Ceremony
This event will be held at Pyramid Megalanes. All teams will be notified accordingly.

Before the championship begins, it will be used to provide you with all information needed to assist you in your preparations.

Bulletins and Information
From now until the championship commences, regular bulletins will be sent out to all bowling federations as well as being featured at the official website.

Travelling to Malaysia
If you are travelling by air, you will arrive at the KL International Airport which is approximately 55km south of the city of Kuala Lumpur or 1 hour by road. From the airport to the official hotels, travel time is about 40 minutes.

Victory Banquet
The Banquet will be held on September 20, at 19.30hrs at the Ballroom, Sunway Lagoon Resort. Entry to the Victory Banquet is free to accredited officials and participants. For non-accredited officials (supporters, spouses and parents), payment of an entrance fee of US$100.00 (RM380.00) per person would include the Victory Banquet.

Flags and National Anthems
Please ensure that you bring 2 national flags for use during the Medal Presentations ceremonies.

Photographs
When submitting participants and officials, please send separately via email digital photographs of participants and officials to facilitate us in the preparation of your accreditation tags in advance so that they can be handed to you during your arrival. Failure to submit digital photographs will result in the delay of accreditation tags being ready when you arrive.
