The Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress (MTBC) is once again proud to announce that there will be a pool of world-class bowlers participating in this year’s 26th Sports Toto-MAS Malaysian International Open Bowling Championship 2003 from the 17 - 29 March, 2003.

"The championship will be held at the Sunway Pyramid Megalanes, Sunway Lagoon Resorts which will also be the venue for 15th WTBA World Tenpin Bowling Championship this September.

We will be extending invitations to the regining World Cup champions, Mika Luoto from Finland and Shannon Pluhowsky of USA, World FIQ Men's Masters champion, Ahmed Shaeen, Ladies Masters champion, Ann-Murray Putney of Australia, European and Asian Zone FIQ championships are all invited to participate. Our national bowlers and two-times Asian Bowler of the Year, Shalin Zulkifli, Busan Asian Games Masters Gold medalists, Sarah Yap, Wendy Chai, Lai Kin Ngoh, AVIVA Asian Bowling Tour Thailnd Leg champion, Alex Liew, AVIVA ABT Korea Ranking Leg champion, Daniel Lim and AVIVA BAT Hong Kong Leg champion, Zulmazran Zulkifli will all be pitching their skills againgst these world-class bowlers on home ground.

The championship’s sponsors are Sports Toto, Malaysia Airlines, Sunway Lagoon Resorts (official hotel), Milo Antioni and Pyramid Megalanes (venue).

The AVIVA Asian Bowling Tour 2003, in its sixth year, will kcik off the first leg following the Malaysian Open on the 30 - 31 March at the same venue where the top 14 Asian men and women bowlers from each Men's and Ladies' Open Masters event will qualify for the Malaysia Leg. Each participant will gain Tour Ranking points according to their positions. At the same time, the Malaysian Open will be a ranking leg for the World Ranking Masters 2003.
