"Cari Champions" Program takes off with a bang

29th September, P.Jaya: Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress in collaboration with the NSC, NFC, PDTBA and the Ministry of Education conducted the first "Cari Champions" tenpin bowling coaching clinic for some 300 selected Under 12 children from Selangor schools at Pyramid Megalanes.

A panel of coaches were on hand to guide these kids on the basics of the game. These 300 kids were selected by the Selangor School Sports Council based on their interest to develop their skills in the game.

MTBC fully supports this creative initiative which is the vision of the Sports Minister to reach out and discover young promising talents in Sports. The principle adopted is that any child who is interested to develop their skills in the game can participate in this program.

The session at Pyramid Megalanes is the first of two more sessions being planned this year will be in Penang (November 11) and Kuching, Sarawak (December 21). More sessions in the other states is also planned for 2006.

Promising children shortlisted will be given further training by MTBC and state coaches several weekends and the most outstanding ones will be enlisted to join the MTBC Under 12 squad. To start with, the selected ones from today's clinic will be put under MTBC and NSC's Sukan Teras Under 12 training program at Mega Lanes Kuala Lumpur. A three-times-a-week training session under a qualified coach will be provided for these young kids in all the basic foundamental skills of the sport of Tenpin Bowling.

Furthermore they are also invited to meet two renowned PBA Pros, Brad Angelo and Rick Benoit from the United States on October 2, at the same venue. The Pros will give the kids valuable tips in bowling and also to have their autographs.

MTBC has always given importance emphasis to grassroot development in our efforts to produce a never ending stream of junior talents to be nurtured over time to bring honor to the country.

Thanks the tremendous support given by ISN, NFC, PDTBA and the Ministry of Education to this Cari Champions program, MTBC will be able to attract and excite more children to get into the game of Tenpin Bowling.
