| Happy ending for Malaysian |
31st December, P.Jaya: Malaysian National Elite squad member, Alex Liew celebrated a happy ending to 2007 when he defeated Indonesia's Putty Armein over two matches in the stepladder grand finals to capture the CCM Selangor Super Classic crown on new year's eve. |

Finishing as top-seed at the end of this morning's 10-game semifinals, Alex Liew of Malaysia had to work doubly hard to earn a well deserved victory over his challanger. Alex tied with Putty Armein of Indonesia in the first match with 235 and had to play the 9th and 10th frame to break the tie.
Both were locked with 39 points after the first attempt forcing another 9th and 10th frame tie-breaker but this time, Alex only managed 40 points while the Indonesian struck home in the 10th frame for a 50 point win.
Fortunately, as top-seed, Alex made amends in the sudden-death decider when he duly oblidged his supporters romping home comfortable win over Putty, 236-186 to win the inaugural classic title. |

"It seems a long time since winning the ABF Tour grand slam title in January this year and I'm extremely happy to be able to round off the year with this victory," said the 32-year-old southpaw. "I didn't play too well during the qualifying stage but was able to do much better today.
"Putty is a good bowler and I knew the match wasn't going to be easy. I dedicate this win to my family and all those who have help me throughout a tough year," added Alex who won RM20,000 top prize. |
Putty Armein had earlier prevented Singapore's Jeremy Fang from making further progress after she edged her opponent, 183-178 in the second match. Putty settled for second but took home RM10,000 plus another RM1,000 for being the best lady finisher and another RM1,000 as best overseas competitor.
In the first stepladder match, third-seed, Jeremy Fang easily defeated fourth-seed, Ahmad Hairohman of PDRM Selangor, 226-170 before going down to Putty. Fang took home RM5,000 while Hairohman won RM2,500 for finishing fourth.

Muhd Nur Aiman, Syafiq Ridhwan, Jonathan Lim and overnight leader, Zaid Izlan ended in 23rd, 25th, 26th, 28th and 29th positions respectively.
101 bowlers took part in the inaugural CCM Selangor Super Classic which commenced on the 29th and ending with the finals. Dato' Aini, President of STBA '04 presented the prizes to the winners.

30th December, P.Jaya: Malaysian national backup squad member, Zaid Izlan stole top spot as both squads completed their second block to lead the top 30 bowlers into the semifinals of the CCM Selangor Super Classic on SUnday evening. |

Singapore's Faizal Chew had set the benchmark of 4216 after Squad B ended their second block of 10 games earlier in the day, just 1 pin ahead of newly-crowned Milo International Junior All Stars champion, Adrian Ang of Malaysia and Syafiq Ridhwan a further 28 pins in third.
Selangor's veteran, Ahmad Hairohman had topped Squad A yestderday as Squad A took to the lanes at Ampang Superbowl Subang USJ for their second block. Malaysian national backup squad member, Zaid Izlan had a superb opening game of 259 to immediately take over pole.
Zaid displayed superb consistency to led all the way in Squad A with Bowlzone's Megat Azlisham, Ahmad Hairohman and national Elite squad member, Zulmazran Zulkifli trading second position amongst themselves. |

The 19-year-old Asian Schools Singles gold medalist narrowed the gap between himself and Squad B leader, Faizal Chew to just 4 pins after the eighth game. Needing to score 420 or above in his final two games, Zaid shot 225 to draw level in the ninth game and 214 in his final game to steal top spot with 4244.
Faizal settled for second on his benchmark of 4216 while Adrian Ang ended in third spot with 4215. Syafiq RIdhwan and Paiman Dali of Singapore took fourth and fifth spots with 4180 and 4146 as Zulmazran finished in sixth position. |
Selangor's SUKMA squad member, Ahmad Amiruddin surprised the field with a seventh place finish ahead of Indonesia's Ryan Lalisang, ex-national Ng Yiew Hup and Alex Liew rounding up the top 10.
Putty Armein of Indonesia, national youth Nadya Izzati, Korea's Kim Eun Jung, Indonesia's Happy Soediyono and Kuala Lumpur's Rosnani were the five women in the field who made the top 30 cut.
Arasi Murni's Sufian Othman made the cut in 30th position with an average of 192.95 while 2006 Singapore national champion, David Wong missing the semifinals in 31st with 3955.

30th December, P.Jaya: Ex-national, Faizal Chew of Singapore hung on to a single pin lead over Malaysia's Adrian Ang as Squad B completed their second block of the CCM Selangor Super Classic 2007 which resumed Sunday morning. |

Overnight leader and national youth, Aris Ardilla had a disasterous start to his second block with an opening game of 128 which gave newly-crowned Penang Pesta International Open Masters champion, Muhd Nur Aiman to take over top spot with Singapore's Faizal Chew hot on his heels just 5 pins adrift.
As Aris continued to slide down the field, it was the Singapore youngster who continued his consistent lines to stay in the lead whilst Adrian Ang, the newly-crowned Milo International Junior All Stars champion, trailing in second.
Ang bowled superbly to narrow the gap from 94 pins after the third game to 33 before the final game. Despite ending with 218 in Ang's final game, Faizal's 181 was sufficient to hang on to the lead with just 1 pin on total of 4216. |

The Malaysian youngster settled for second with 4215 with fellow teammate and PBAP Classic champion, Syafiq Ridhwan in third spot a further 36 pins away on 4180. Another Singaporean, Paiman Dali and Indonesia's Ryan Lalisang rounded up the top 5 in fourth and fifth positions with 4146 and 4096 respectively.
Malaysian national Elite squad member, Alex Liew managed to crawl his way up to sixth position with a superb 2044 second block and giving him a total of 4090. Indonesia's Putty Armein became the best lady finisher in the second block finishing seventh with 4081.
Early pace-setter, Muhd Nur Aiman, Jonathan Lim and newly-crowned Penang Pesta Youth Boys joint-champion, Kang Bo Long completed the top 10. Judging from the higher scores registered in Squad B, the average cut-off top 30 semifinals would be around 198 average. |

The top 30 combined from both the squads at the end of the second block will make the cut for another 10 games in the semifinals starting with scratch scores. The top 4 at the end of the semifinals will proceed to the stepladder shootout to determine the champion.

29th December, P.Jaya: National youth, Aris Ardilla snatched the overall pole position after Squad B completed their first block of the CCM Selangor Super Classic 2007 at Ampang Superbowl Subang USJ Saturday evening. |

Selangor's veteran, Ahmad Hairohman had set the benchmark in Squad A played earlier with a total of 2121 before 54 bowlers took to the lanes for their first block. Newly-crowned Penang Pesta Youth Boys champion, Kang Bo Long set the early pace with a 267 cracker but only 6 pins ahead of National Elite squad member, Alex Liew in second.
Liew was on fire following it up with a 247 to take over the lead from Kang after the second game but could not hold on as he saw another southpaw and newly-crowned Penang Pesta Open champion, Muhd Nur Aiman storming into the top at the halfway mark.

Any of the top three bowlers hitting 190 and above would have surpassed Squad A leader's score of 2121 but as it turned out, it was national youth Aris Ardilla's late charge of 234, 254, 246 and 232 in his last four games that gave the youngster a total of 2162 and the first block lead.

Faizal Chew settled for second with 2154, just 8 pins adrift while Hiesyam finished third with 2139, a further 23 pins away. Muhd Nur Aiman hung on to take up fourth spot with 2130 with Squad A leader, Ahmad Hairohman rounding up the top 5 with 2121.
Another Singaporean, Paiman Dali took sixth spot with 2117 while Asian Ranked No. 1, Kim Eun Jung of Korea was the best female finisher in seventh spot on 2107. National backup squad member, Zaid Izlan, who was second in Squad A took eighth place with 2076.

| Selangor veteran tops Squad A |
29th December, P.Jaya: Ahmad Hairohman of PDRM, Selangor topped Squad A of the CCM Selangor Super Classic 2007 underway at Ampang Superbowl Subang USJ ahead of national backup squad member, Zaid Izlan and KH Lim. |

A total of 47 bowlers in Squad A took to the lanes at Ampang Superbowl Subang USJ in the inaugural classic over the first block of 10 games. National youth, Nadya Izzati bowling with a handicap of 5 pins grabbed an early lead with 213 followed by Selangor SUKMA squad member, Dina Nurnadia in a close second.
After loosing the lead in the next three games, the Selangor youngster regained the lead at the halfway mark albeit just 15 pins ahead of Selangor's veteran and 2007 Ampang Superbowl International Challenge champion, Ahmad Hairohman in second.
With Nadya running out of steam, Hairohman took the opportunity to take over the lead despite only shooting 189 in the sixth game. The leader then stepped his pace to reel in 209, 237, 234 and 181 to end the block in pole position with 2121. |

Malaysian national backup squad member, Zaid Izlan stormed home to snatch second spot with 2076, 45 pins adrift the leader. Kuala Lumpur's K.H. Lim did well to finish third with 2066, a further 10 pins away.
Selangor's G.S. Chua, who led after the third game, settled for fourth position with 2018 with Megat Azlisham of Bowlzone rounding up the top 5 with 2012. Early pace-setter, Nadya Izzati fizzled out to 9th with 1979 but was the best female finisher in the field.
Malaysian national elite squad members, Zulmazran Zulkifli and Zandra Aziela could only manage 10th and 18th respectively. Squad B comprising of 54 bowlers will take to the lanes for their first block later this afternoon. |
