Of the 379 men bowlers registered, only 302 names have been provided while 223 names have been received for the 266 women registered.
"We seek the co-operation from all participating federations to immediately confirm their players by submitting their Form E together with the digital photos. This will allow us to have their accreditation cards prepared on time as well as feature their photos in our souvenir programme," said Mr Sidney Tung, CEO and secretary general of MTBC.
"At the same time, many participating countries have yet to submit their arrival schedule (Form D2)," added Mr Tung. "Further delay in submitting these documents will hinder our preparation efforts especially when receiving the teams at the airport."
On the brighter side, the organising committee has fixed August 27 for the "Official Draw" press conference which will be witnessed by participating countries' foreign embassy representatives in Malaysia. Invitations will be sent to them to attend this draw.
A series of sponsorship presentations are also scheduled over the next two to three weeks. August 18 is the date set for the Nestle (Milo) Products, to official annouce their sponsorship support for the championship while the following day, August 19 will be the date set for Pyramid Megalanes, to present their co-sponsorship mock cheque.
Meanwhile, September 2 is set for our Tenpin Bowling's Sponsor for Sporting Excellence Programme (Taja Gemilang), Sri Jentayu Sdn Bhd to present their mock cheque as major sponsor for this championship. |
