19th September, Kuala Lumpur: A total of 36 representatives of the 100-plus media representatives covering the WTBA World Championships in Kuala Lumpur contested the 1st Bowlers Journal International Media Championships at the Sunway Pyramid Megalanes on Friday evening.

The scoring was exceptionally high for such a cross section of experience and a very respectable pinfall total of 662 took first place, a three-game score posted by Kim Thorsgaard Jensen of Aalborg, Denmark. Jensen publishes the very efficient and highly popular www.etbf.dk website and, coincidentally, runs what will be the host center for the WTBA Women's World Championships in 2005.

Second and third places were both captured by Malaysian journalists. Jasmi Syamir of TV3 and Bernarma press agency's Hamdan Saaid ended this tight competition with 654 and 634 respectively.

The trophies were sponsored by Bowlers Journal International, now celebrating its 90th year of publication, and souvenir shirts by Eugene Kong, Venue Manager. The winners' trophies were presented by Dato' Talaat, Deputy Secretary General , Ministry of Youth & Sports, Malaysia.
